‘SAM.’ is an architecture and design studio based in Mumbai, with an aim to design for the Post-Anthropocene era through metabolic design strategies.


Conceptualized and conceived by Aditya Mandlik.

Aditya Mandlik is an architect based in Mumbai. His interest in the fields of Architecture, Arts, and Urbanism, has led him to operate at their intersection through research allowing him to develop a unique pedagogy towards practice.

He received his Master’s from the Institute For Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), Barcelona, graduating with honours for his thesis, on Urban Design, Strategy, and Architecture Design. He has also been recognised for the best Design Dissertation for his Bachelor’s thesis “Ignored Framed” at Rachana Sansad’s Academy of Architecture, Mumbai.


Earlier, he practised as an architect in collaboration with Moon Hoon Architecture, Seoul, South Korea, and Mias Arquitectes, Barcelona, Spain. He has experience with prestigious projects of diverse scales like the Korean Pavilion at the Expo 2020, Dubai, Mercat Can Vidalet, and La Plana in Barcelona and has been a part of various exhibitions including one at Center Pompidou, Paris.


He is currently a visiting faculty at UMEA University, Sweden. He has also been a Research Associate at T.U.Wein, Austria, and a visiting faculty at Rachana Sanad’s Academy of Architecture, Mumbai.
